This is what we heard coming from the backseat the entire way home from Nana & Papa Joe’s house tonight:
Hap Burday to Abbay, Hap Burday to Abbay, Hap Burday to Abbay, Hap Burday to Abbay, Hap Burday to Abbay… YEAH, Maggie!

Hap Burday to Mama, Hap Burday to Mama, Hap Burday to Mama, Hap Burday to Mama, Hap Burday to Mama… YEAH, Maggie!

Hap Burday to Daday, Hap Burday to Daday, Hap Burday to Daday, Hap Burday to Daday, Hap Burday to Daday… YEAH, Maggie!

Hap Burday to Maggie, Hap Burday to Maggie, Hap Burday to Maggie, Hap Burday to Maggie, Hap Burday to Maggie… YEAH, ME!

Maggie serenaded us with a lovely song – a Happy Birthday song dedicated to each and every one of us! On a similar note, last Sunday (Superbowl Sunday), Maggie wore this get-up all day long…

This picture doesn’t do it justice… it’s REALLY fluffy and red! Mommy’s little princess.

Speaking of red – look what Abby had for lunch today. Please believe me when I tell you that I TRIED to talk her out of it… I tried to tell her it would be nasty… she didn’t listen.

Yes folks, those are saltine crackers with peanut butter spread on them – complete with a dollop of KETCHUP on the tip top. But wait, it gets better. She then sprinkled salt on the peak of the nasty mound of weirdness and sandwiched it together with another saltine! The worst part is – she ENJOYED IT AND WANTED MORE! I seriously had to leave the room after I took this picture.

Oh the humanity…

I finally got out my machine and did some Christmas sewing. I had on the books to make several presents for the girls this year for Christmas: an apron (for helping me in the kitchen), an I Spy Bag, and a fairy tutu… all of which I promise I’ll show pictures of a bit later. Well, last night I finished the aprons and the I Spy Bags, but the tulle hasn’t arrived yet for the fairy tutus, so I’ll make them at a later date. This year for Christmas, I’m giving Abby an art box complete with water colors, a water color booklet, charcoal pencils, good colored pencils, puffy glitter paint, etc… some nicer art supplies and since Maggie isn’t quite 2, I wanted to get her a couple of sets of the Crayola Color Wonder stuff (so that she couldn’t draw all over my furniture with her new markers). Being the Mom I am, I didn’t want Maggie to be left out and not get an “art box” or something to carry her new colors in, so I made her a carrying bag especially for her new stuff.

Look how cute it turned out! I sewed a few little “pockets” on the front for her markers…

… and even a “pocket” on the back for the finger paints! AND, It has a sweet little lime green liner and lavender ribbon handles. She’s going to love it!

Speaking of Maggie, check out what we saw the other night. Under wear as outer wear went out with Madonna in the 80’s, honey…. she’s such a trend-setter!

AND – yesterday was the big Dan Zanes concert at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta! Oh my goodness… we had SO MUCH FUN! Now, I know you’ve been to a concert where tons of people stand down front (in front of the seats) and dance to the music… right? Well, this was that type of concert, but the people standing down front dancing were about 3 feet tall! It was SO CUTE to see all these kids dancing and singing to his music. And afterwards, his whole band came outside to meet-n-greet and sign autographs. Abby got a Dan Zanes t-shirt (which we had him sign on the back) and we got a concert poster that he signed. I guess it’s going to have to get framed and go up on the wall in the den like the rest fo our concert posters…

If you’ve not heard of Dan Zanes, then you’re really missing out. He’s the new thing for kids these days… and he’s so much better than the Wiggles or Barney: he’s actually cool!

Tonight, we saw that he is going to be playing at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta in december, so we QUICKLY bought 4 tickets to that show. Can you tell that I’m really excited about going to see him! I think Patrick and I are more excited than Abby is! Woohoo, Dan Zanes in Concert!

Go check Dan Zanes and his band out on their website or his myspace page (where you can listen to his music).
