… a sewing bee!
I got to work and finished Abby’s bedding this morning. Here are some shots of her almost-finished room. I did the pillows, dust-ruffle and curtains. Yesterday I hung the mirror and it’s almost complete. All I have left to do is the memory board for over her bed.
Sorry the pic. of the [...]

Abby and I went to the fabric store last night to pick out some fabrics for her bedroom. Remember, we painted the walls a robin’s egg blue and she has a pink crystal chandelier. Well, she went straight to the BLACK section. She’s 5 years old… it’s not time for her to want black in [...]

I finally got out my machine and did some Christmas sewing. I had on the books to make several presents for the girls this year for Christmas: an apron (for helping me in the kitchen), an I Spy Bag, and a fairy tutu… all of which I promise I’ll show pictures of a bit [...]

I found a neat tutorial to a cute fabric headband/wrap the other night and thought I’d throw one together tonight. I think it turned out really cute.

Store-bought:
Alice Crocs. Ahhhh, I’ve never been a fan of crocs for adults, but [...]

I found a cute patchwork scarf tutorial at one of my favorite blogs, Sew Mama Sew. Well, Last Sunday, Savannah came over to play with Abby and I decided to let them pick out their fabrics and I would make each of them a matching patchwork scarf. Oh, they turned out so cute.
Look at [...]

I just got Amy Karol’s Bend the Rules Sewing book in the mail and I can already tell it’ll be one of my favorites. I love her blog (hint – it’s in my blogroll to the left) Angry Chicken and visit it all the time for tips and tricks and to just look at her [...]

Isn’t this fabric Yummie? I just “ordered” a yard of it from Sew Mama Sew (I won her weekly feedback contest) and can’t wait to use it. I’m thinking maybe the trim on an apron or a skirt… or maybe a purse. I can’t wait for it to come in. Stay tuned – when I [...]

I recently stumbled upon a blog that I’m really starting to enjoy reading. Check out this WONDERFUL smock she made (about a year ago). I love it! I want one. I can see making one out of an all-weather khaki linen and wearing it over jeans and a tank, t-shirt, turtleneck… anything! Aaahhhhh, I really [...]
