I am a mom of 2 lovely little girls: Abby (8/30/02) & Maggie (1/31/06). I work full time as creative supervisor and graphic designer and it’s hard to fit everything in! Between my job, being a hands-on mother, cooking, cleaning (not so much), taking care of 2 little ones and 1 furry one… I barely have time to breathe – much less relax!
I started this blog for my out-of-town family and friends, as a way they could keep up with us on a day-to-day basis… but it’s turned into so much more. I never in a million years thought that I would stick-with-it… But this is one thing I love making the time for!
We must try to live life to the fullest – be it crazy, wonderful or a mixture of the two.

There are never any pictures of me… I’m always the one with the camera. Here is one Shannie took of me after a wedding back in February. You remember the one in Savannah? Nice bowtie, huh?

GaGa, loves it. I’ve only gone thru it once from end to end but it’s a great web site.
Love,
Dad

Hey. I responded to one of your comments on my blog, but in case you dont see it there, I figured I would write here as well. So about the music alarm thing. My wife read on some website that she cannot remember, that music is very soothing for most ADHD kids and it was suggested to put a CD player or MP3 player in their room. They said the MP3 with headphones is good because it allows the kids to focus on the music, but Avi is not getting one at this point (I still hate the fact that he knows how to use my “holy” ipod).
So we took it one step further and got him a CD player alarm clock. Now he wakes to whatever cd he wants and my wife does not need to get him up. Now it take some minutes before he actually gets out of bed, but since we started with the alarm clock she has not needed to go to get him up.
On a different topic, we have been thinking about getting some fish. She read in parents magazine about pets and that fish can be very soothing to kids. We were thinking about getting a fish tank in our living room and when he has a meltdown he can go in the living room and watch the fish. Have you ever thought of this, or know anyone who does this for their ADHD kids?
We actually have a fish tank in our family room… have had since Patrick and I got married. We’re down to only one fish at the moment though – he’s a TYRANT! He chases the other fish until they “disappear”… so we’re a 1-fish-family until he’s gone. Abby does love the fishtank though… I think it’s a very good idea to try it.
Hi. I just responded to your comment on my blog. I put a link to a photo of the pastries.
