Well, this is the very first post on my new blog. I have reservations about even starting a blog, because I’m worried that it will fall by the wayside. I’ve tried the whole family-website thing, but I’m way too busy to keep that up. I’ve tried e-mailing photos to family members, but the e-mails got too HUGE. I did a bit of research and found that blogging was probably the easiest way to stay connected with our family and friends. Let me catch you up on everything that’s been going on with us for the past few months…
As most of you know, our house was hit by a tornado in early March and we finally got to move back in our newly remodeled house on May 18th… IT FEELS GREAT! We are still waiting on the final figures for the sunroom before beginning construction on that part of the house, and our backyard looks like a war-zone, but at least the inside is complete. It’s still a work in progress.
Several other big things happened in May…
Friday, May 18th (moving day) Abby graduated from Pre-K! Our big girl is growing up. I can’t believe she will go to KINDERGARTEN next year. *sniff* *sniff*
The next day (May 19th), Abby had her end-of-the-year dance recital! She did SO GOOD! Here is a picture of her in one of her costumes – this was her first number and it was a tap dance (I actually gave her a blister trying to get all that makeup off her little face).
The next week (May 24th), Abby had her tonsils and adenoids taken out. Fun. She was so excited about going to the hospital and wearing a hospital gown and getting to eat all the ice cream she wanted, but all that changed pretty quickly. We ended up having to spend the night at the hospital because she had a hard time coming out of the anesthesia and they couldn’t get her to eat or drink anything. She is fine now, but we had a few rough days.
Look at me. All this talk about Abby and I haven’t even mentioned Maggie! She’s just as happy as she can be, eats all the time and has a temper like you’ve never seen before! We had a rough week the first week of June when she decided to cut a WHOLE MOUTH full of teeth AT ONE TIME! We never had this problem with Abby, she just woke up one day with teeth. Maggie, on the other hand, cried, drooled, had the runny nose, had tummy troubles, couldn’t sleep, couldn’t eat, had a fever, drooled, drooled some more… if it’s a symptom of teething – she had it! We seriously hope it’s over FOR GOOD!
Just because I posted a few pictures of Abby, here’s a cute one of Maggie that we took at the aquarium in Atlanta earlier in May. Can you tell she LOVED the fish?
